Currently: I am Case Team Leader in Bain & Co.'s Munich office.
Profile: 4 yrs of strategic and operations management consulting experience at Bain & Co in private equity, high-tech, automotive and industrial projects (incl. due diligence, M&A, post-merger integration, restructuring, operational performance improvement, organizational and decision effectiveness). 3.5 yrs of startup/entrepreneurship experience in e-commerce, Internet and social networking startups dooyoo, DealPilot, and Friendity as a founder, Chief Product Officer and CTO, VP e-commerce Europe, as well as in business development and sales. Leadership experience for up to 30 people. Internships at DaimlerChrysler, Bertelsmann and OTTO Versand. Main experience in Germany; 4+ months in each of New York and Los Angeles, and 12+ months in London.
Career: Before Bain I was a founder of Friendity, a social networking startup that we couldn't get off the ground. Before that, I worked at dooyoo building up the eCommerce business line and later being responsible for product development and technology on the management board. Earlier, I managed a corporate research project on crisis management for Prof. Töpfer and DaimlerChrysler. I have interned in business development for Bertelsmann, at DaimlerChrysler's War Room in the Corporate Strategy department, and at Otto Versand's Internal Consulting department. Shortly after high-school, I had a small business importing and selling basketball trading cards.
University: I studied business administration at Dresden's University of Technology and Hagen's Fernuniversität graduating as Diplom-Kaufmann. I wrote a few papers in university.
Personal: I am 31 years old, I am German, I live in Munich, I hate insects, I love basketball, I frequently go out with my friends when I am not spending time with my lovely girlfriend, I do not drink alcohol, I crave diet coke and orange juice, my favorite movie is "Armageddon" and my favorite fiction book is "The Notebook" (go figure), and I have a knack for the US. Also, earthlings don't faze me.
